Adult Ballet & Tap

Ballet is a great way to tone up and strengthen your muscles.

We have 2 classes at HHDC: Beginners & Improvers

Beginners: for those completely new to dance. You will study technical features such as posture, use of turn out, positions of the feet and arms before moving onto centre work, turns, jumps and travelling steps. The class will gradually develop over the year to allow you to master the ballet vocabulary and dance with confidence.

Improvers: for those who have danced before. This slightly faster paced class will develop previous classical knowledge, introducing new steps and sequences. A mental challenge as well as a physical one! 

Ballet uniform is not required, although some participants do like to wear it. A t-shirt and leggings/tracksuit with socks are fine. 

Tap is a great aerobic exercise.

We have two classes at HHDC: Beginners, Improvers.

Beginners: for those completely new to tap dance. You will learn will learn basic tap steps gradually developing different rhythms and sequences. The class consists of a warm-up, step vocabulary and fun routines (sometimes with a prop!!)

Improvers: for those with some tap dance experience. This faster paced class will develop previous tap knowledge, introducing new steps and more complex sequences. Basic time-steps and picks up will be introduced and rhythmically challenging routines will help you develop your skills.
