Pre-School Ballet

The Pre-School syllabus we follow at HHDC is Melody Movement.

Melody Movement introduces children to dance and movement using the natural actions of the body such as running, walking, jumping, hopping, skipping and galloping.

It is structured to aid children's physical development, coordination, spatial awareness, sensory development, creativity and self-expression, working individually, with a partner, or as a group.

Our Melody Bear Ballet Class also introduces children to other fundamental curriculum learning skills such as counting, colour and shape recognition, vocabulary and language skills. The strength of the system is that learning is achieved through imaginative movement which is enjoyable and fun.

Age appropriate ballet vocabulary is introduced using songs, stories, rhymes, pictures and props.

This imaginative class is structured to develop the children's confidence as well as their movement skills, rhythm and musicality.

We encourage all students to participate in Melody Bear Assessments and Awards. These informal events are a perfect introduction to the examination process and all children receive a certificate and award for their achievement.
