Ballet is a great way to tone up and strengthen your muscles.
We have three classes at HHDC: Beginners, Improvers and Intermediates
Beginners: for those completely new to dance. You will study technical features such as posture, use of turn out, positions of the feet and arms before moving onto centre work, turns, jumps and travelling steps. The class will gradually develop over the year to allow you to master the ballet vocabulary and dance with confidence.
Improvers: for those who have danced before. This slightly faster paced class will develop previous classical knowledge, introducing new steps and sequences. A mental challenge as well as a physical one!
Intermediates: for those with previous ballet experience (Grade 8 and above) who are looking to develop their techique in a fun environment. Classes will focus on developing technique and musicality through complex sequences and challenging combinations. New steps, rhythm patterns and styles will constantly be introduced to keep you metally focussed and developing your skills.
Ballet uniform is not required, although some participants do like to wear it. A t-shirt and leggings/tracksuit with socks are fine. As long as you feel comfortable and able to move the choice is yours.
